With over forty years of training experience between them, the trainers of the MIC MARTIN DOG TRAINING Security Division   have put together a security dog handler’s package that will end in a well recognised certified qualification. We aim to set the highest standard of quality training within the security industry.

The initial course as laid out by The British Institute Of Professional Dog Trainers (Security Division) will enable self-employed dog handlers and security companies a chance to gain the endorsement of one of the largest governing bodies in the Canine Security Industry.

WE BELIEVE:

With a few notable exceptions, many security firms have neither the quality of dog or training expertise to pass even the most basic test.

MIC MARTIN DOG TRAINING with the support of The British Institute Of Professional Dog Trainersand National Security Dog Users, wish to help those security firms and handlers who believe in promoting high standards of ethical behaviour and professional expertise to achieve those standards.

It was thought the Guards Dog Act 1975 would have had a greater influence on the security industry but unfortunately little has changed in the twenty-five years since it was past.

The institute therefore canvassed for opinions and ideas from a cross section of their members who have knowledge of, but no vested interest in, the dog related security industry.

From all the information gathered it was apparent that there was three main issues that needed to be addressed.

 These are:

(1)       Courses and examinations should be realistically priced

(2)       Courses and refresher training to be made as easily available as possible

(3)       To take into account the difficulties faced by people involved in the security industry.
